Collection: Stash — SUBBLUEMINAL: ULTRAMARINUS

With roots in subway graffiti art, Josh ‘STASH’ Franklin was a pioneer of the New York graffiti movement, and the first to bring splats, spray caps, and other classic graffiti iconography to streetwear design. Notably, his work with Nike, Reebok, and Japanese brands BAPE, Neighborhood and Mad Hectic, were cornerstones of late ‘80s and ‘90s streetwear fashion.

Now, he brings his distinctive graffiti writing style from the streets to the galleries. "SUBBLUEMINAL: ULTRAMARINUS" is the culmination of a week-long residency with Void Deck in Singapore. It is his artistic response to Singapore’s diverse culture. With his signature color blue as his focusing lens, this exhibition will showcase original artworks created in residency here, limited edition prints, and other collectibles. This is the first showcase in Asia of his works since the 2019 Sotheby’s auction curated by NIGO (Tomoaki Nagao, also known as NIGO is a Japanese fashion designer and founder of BAPE and BAPESTA).
